With a heavy heart we made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person portion of the 2025 Bulldogs 4 Life Bash.

The necessary advertising and hard-push to boost ticket sales leading up to the event while our school community is deeply hurting due to the tragic loss of GHS student, Salvador “Junior” Granillo, feels inappropriate and insensitive; especially with the event's focus on GHS student speakers, performers and volunteers - many of whom knew and loved Junior. In addition to “business as usual” not feeling right, it seemed important to learn from students after Amarr’s death last year. That we adults need to just slow down, to NOT carry on with scheduled plans. That, in the face of tragedy, we should pause and make space to honor all the feelings and emotions people are experiencing and be sure that people, especially students, are as okay as possible.

We hope you will still join the GHS PTSA, in the incredibly important task of raising $80,000

to support GHS students, teachers and staff through the online AUCTION and PRESS-the-BUTTON.

The online auction will open on Friday, April 25th at 4:00 pm and close on Wednesday, May 7th  at 11:59pm. Delivery of auction winnings will be coordinated after closing. 

The digital Raise-the-Paddle aka “Press-the-Button" is open now, closing on May 7th at 11:59pm.

We know it won’t have the same engaging energy as an in-person event and Raise-the-Paddle and it may not end up raising as much money,  but we are cautiously optimistic that our community's generosity will demonstrate how committed we are to supporting current and future Garfield High School students, teachers and staff...even without a big party.
